During a hearing in the Skopje courthouse today, businessman Adrian Amzoski testified to paying 350,000 EUR to Bojan Jovanovski – Boki 13, cash on hand. It was just one of the payments the Struga based real-estate developer with ties to politician and businessman Fijat Canoski made to Boki 13, Amzoski said.

Boki 13 is charged with taking money from real-estate developers and promising that he will use his clout in the ruling SDSM party to help them get valuable publicly owned land. Some of the money that was paid to Boki 13 was collected by his associate Jasna Mandic, Amzoski said. Mandic is currently in the news after she testified how Prime Minister Zoran Zaev himself intervened to keep her out of detention.

Besides as a business opportunity, the money were likely also paid to keep the businessman out of legal trouble. Amzoski faced charges from Special Prosecutor Katica Janeva, who was sentenced along with Boki 13 in the original Racket trial. Lawyer Jovica Straseski today presented a text message from Amzoski, thanking Boki for helping lift the charges against him, and urging him to now “do business” – likely meaning to initiate a real-estate deal that Boki planned to get government subsidies for.
