Great failure of the Macedonian diplomacy. While President Stevo Pendarovski was meeting Eros Ramazzotti and Zoran Zaev was hugging his great friend Alexis Tsipras, at the funeral of one of the most powerful statesmen in world politics of the 20th century, former French President Jacques Chirac, Macedonia was represented by one Edmond Ademi Minister without portfolio in charge of Diaspora, Lake Ohrid, funerals…

At a sensitive time for the state, when we wait for France to wink at us and give the green light for the start of negotiations with the European Union, our lobbying comes down to Ademi’s selfie with former US President Bill Clinton.

Why didn’t Pendarovski attend Jacques Chirac’s funeral?

Why did Pendarovski decide to stay in Skopje and not use this event for perhaps the most important lobbying for the Republic of Macedonia?

His Office told Kanal 5 that the decision to represent the state was made after consultations between the President, the Parliament and the Government, but did not to say the reasons why Ademi was selected.

President Pendarovski met Monday with representatives of the Macedonian Banking Association and the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, and ended the evening with Eros Ramazzotti‘s concert, according to a Facebook post.

At our meeting shortly before the concert, we talked about the first contact with music through his guitar at the age of 7 until international success in the 1980s and 1990s. We also talked about his second passion for a healthy environment, Pendarovski wrote in the post.

The day of the former French president’s funeral was a day of mourning in France. The world ‘s most powerful leaders, present and former, and Edmond Ademi payed the final respects.

Made a world power out of France, opposed Washington for Iraq

About 30 current and former world leaders attended the commemoration at the Church of Saint-Sulpice, which began with a funeral ceremony for former French President Jacques Chirac. The coffin with Chirac’s body, who died at age 86, was taken through the streets of Paris, where thousands of citizens payed the final respects.

Chirac was president of France from 1995 to 2007 and was respected for making the country one of the world’s major political powers, but was at the mercy of Washington after opposing the intervention in Iraq.

Among the leaders present at the funeral were German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri and from the British royal house, Prince Edward, the youngest son of Queen Elizabeth. European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker was not present for health reasons.
