The SDSM party issued a statement to announce that the law on the minimum wage goes into effect. The lowest amount an employee can be paid, starting with this month, is set at 18,000 denars, or 300 EUR.

With this increase, in just four and a half years we raised the minimum wage from 8,800 to 18,000 denars. The SDSM led Government will subsidize the salary taxes to help ensure this increase. We are helping the citizens and the economy. This law ensures the future of all our workers, as in the future, the minimum wage won’t be below 57 percent of the average salary, the ruling party said.
