Defence Minister Radmila Shekerinska will represent the Republic of North Macedonia for the first time as an official invitee at the NATO Defence Ministers meeting which will take place Feb. 13-14 in Brussels.

This is the first meeting of NATO members in 2019 and the first time Macedonia takes a seat at NATO’s table after the accession protocol was signed last week.

“At this meeting, we will welcome for the first time our colleague from Skopje, minister Radmila Sekerinska. The future Republic of North Macedonia now has a seat at NATO’s table, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said at a press conference in Brussels on Thursday,” informing about the agenda for the two day meeting.

NATO members will officially welcome Minister Shekerinska’s on Thursday at 11:00 h, few hours before the start of the first session of the North Atlantic Council.

The minister plans several bilateral meetings with her NATO counterparts during the visit, including meetings with defence ministers from Belgium, Great Britain, Canada, Turkey, Greece and others.
