The country’s progress in terms of community rights is a result of political will, legal solutions, democratic maturation of the state, adoption of European standards, but also a natural course of traditionally good coexistence, mutual respect and understanding among our citizens, President Stevo Pendarovski said Tuesday at the panel discussion on the rights of the minority communities in Macedonia.

He said that the state must pay more attention to the resources for the implementation of community rights.

We must not make compromises and improvisations when it comes to the right to education in one’s native language, to preserve the culture and tradition of all smaller communities. I believe that equitable representation in institutions is crucial. I do not want to sound like nothing has been done so far in this field, because many things have been done, but I want to encourage consistently and to the end to implement equitable representation in the administration and to apply equally to all ethnic communities, Pendarovski said.
