Greek police disperses migrants attempting to enter Macedonia by train

Greek police dispersed a group of migrants who were attempting to enter Macedonia illegally, hidden in a cargo train.

The engineer informed the police that he has spotted migrants in the wagon cars. When the police approached the train near Solun/Thessaloniki, the migrants fled.

Greece houses tens of thousands of migrants, many of them blocked there since the Balkan route was closed in 2016. Some of them are attempting to cross the border when opportunity presents itself, while most are hoping that the route will reopen at some point.
