The National Gallery of Macedonia is hosting an exhibition commemorating the 110th birth anniversary of Lena Stefanova, a prominent Macedonian artist. Set to debut at Chifte Amam on December 20th, the exhibition will span until February, as announced by the organizers.
Art historian Viktorija Vaseva Dimeska and National Gallery director Dita Starova Qerimi will inaugurate the exhibit.
Organizers emphasized the scarcity of comprehensive reviews and scholarly articles concerning Stefanova’s oeuvre. While a few catalogs from her posthumous exhibitions offer glimpses into her art, these writings remain concise and lack detailed analyses, stated the National Gallery.
Nevertheless, Stefanova remains a pivotal figure in contemporary Macedonian visual arts.
Curated by Tatjana Bundalevska and Elena Ivanova, the exhibition stands as a tribute to Lena Stefanova’s artistic legacy.
