Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and his supporters are celebrating another electoral victory, after apparently beating the united opposition parties in the general elections.

Results are still coming in, but it seems clear that Orban’s Fidesz party was won clear majority in the Parliament, and is even on the verge of keeping its two-thirds super majority that allows it to amend the Constitution – even though this outcome is less certain.

Pro-opposition supporters are blaming the outcome on the too diverse make-up of their coalition which includes far right nationalist and left and far left parties. It seems that supporters of the nationalist Jobbik opposition party abandoned the coalition and voted for a third nationalist party Mi Hazank, which is now on the verge of entering Parliament, and possibly allying with Orban.
