PRO also ordered to close “Kipper” chain of stores in Skopje, but also in other cities in the country, while the store inventory and control of inspectors on whether these stores adhere to government measures to abolish the margin of certain basic food products last, reported the Skopje1 news portal.

The PRO reiterates that the main purpose of the controls is to protect citizens from paying tax on products that are not subject to such a fee by a decision of the Government. The condition of the stocks of commercial goods in the warehouses and shops is inspected in order to determine the factual situation and to make a comparison with the accounting records. According to the Office, parallel controls are being carried out at a number of other traders, and inspectors have so far found that some of the markets in the country still include VAT of five percent on some products that are exempt from any duties to the state by government decree.
