At Thursday’s government session, a decision was taken to take away Euromax’s concession for the Ilovica mine. The information provided by the Ministry of Economy states that the company did not submit all necessary documents required by the Law on Mineral Resources for obtaining a license for exploitation. Because of this “the request for issuing a concession for the exploitation mineral resources – copper and gold at the “Ilovica” locality is rejected”.

At today’s session of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Ministry of Economy informed that the legal requirements for adopting a decision for rejecting the request for issuing a license for exploitation of mineral resources – copper and gold at the “Ilovica” locality, municipality of Bosilovo at EUROMAX Resources DOO Skopje. In the information presented to the Government by the Ministry of Economy today, it was established that the company did not submit all necessary documents required under the Law on Mineral Resources for obtaining a license for exploitation. After the expiration of the mandatory deadline for appeal of 15 days, the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia will be able to make a final decision on the unilateral termination of the Concession Agreement with EUROMAX RESOURCES DOO Skopje, the Government said.

The non-governmental organization “Zdrava kotlina” (Healthy valley) welcomed the decision of the Government as true in accordance with the laws of the country, but still, they will wait 15 days to finally take away the first concession for the Ilovica-Stuka mine.
