UNESCO decided to maintain the cultural heritage status of the region of Ohrid, despite concerns about overdevelopment and destruction of the unique environmental conditions.

Culture and Environment ministers attended the UNESCO meeting in Riyadh to push for the continued designation of Ohrid as a cultural and natural heritage site.
