A burial sarcophagus dating from the II century AD was found during road work on Skopje’s main boulevard Partizanski Odredi, in the western part of the Karpos district.
The sarcophagus has was made in the Roman period, and it contained three additional pieces. The city used to gravitate toward its contemporary western suburbs and the location is not far from the Skupi archeological site.
